**Job Introduction**:
As a Graduate Researcher you will join the Research and Data Unit and report to the Research Manager. On a day to day basis you will conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis for teams across the Institute. You will also support and contribute to policy papers and reports published by TBI.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support on original research projects involving primary analytical work as well as secondary analysis of the academic and policy literature
- Review and summarise research findings clearly and concisely
- Deliver work in a timely and efficient manner

**Person Specification**:

- A recent graduate with a background in public policy, political economy, or similar
- A passion for using analysis and creativity to provide research that can help to revitalise the centre ground of politics
- An interest in the big political and policy questions facing governments globally
- Ability to find and synthesise relevant information sources
- Ability to analyse and understand the detail of major policy areas
- Ability to write with clarity and impact
- Proven high standard of verbal communication
- Strong writing and presentational skills
- Interest in developing and practicing new research skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and at pace
- An interest in and desire to learn more about areas related to progressive politics, including political attitudes, elections, political institutions, technology, and social media

**The Research and Data Unit’s Graduate Scheme**

The graduate scheme:

- Runs for one year from September to September, during which you will sit within the Research and Data Unit and report into the Research Manager
- During the one-year programme, you will have the opportunity to do one rotation and sit within a team (outside the Research and Data Unit) of the politics division for one quarter
- Has a strong focus on learning and development, allowing graduates to progress professionally for a full-time role at TBI or elsewhere
- After successfully completing the programme, you will have the opportunity to join the team as a full-time Research Analyst
