- hour lunch break. 5 continuous days.

Part time role - 22.5 hours/week, 09.00 to 17.30hrs, including a one
- hour lunch break. Days to suite working needs of business.

**Reporting to**:Section Heads or Deputy Section Heads

**Accountable to**:Facility Director

**Internal Relationships**:Liaising with ASI Team

**External Relationships**:Liaising with clients, suppliers and/or subcontractors.

**Analytical Services International**:
Analytical Services International Ltd (ASI) is a research and service company specialising in the analysis of drugs and biologically active compounds using chromatography,, mass spectrometry and spectrophotometry.

ASI has an international client base and offers laboratory services in three main areas: toxicology, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and pre-clinical/clinical studies.

The toxicology provides services for two main sectors: for Coroners and pathologists investigating cause of death, and for the police for Road Traffic Act offences (primarily drink and drug-driving). A variety of biological matrices are tested using systems designed to meet ISO17025 accreditation standards, and in-line with the Forensic Science Regulators Codes of Conduct and Practice.

The TDM service provides measurements for drugs used in healthcare and clinical therapies to ensure of correct dosing.

Services to clients conducting pre-clinical and clinical studies include method development, validation, and analysis of study samples. Services for these regulatory studies can be conducted under conditions of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**General/Housekeeping;**

1. To undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with ASI’s policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

2. To become familiar and comply with ASI's rules on data confidentiality, data protection and security, including adherence to the ASI confidentiality agreement.

3. To become familiar with and comply with local Health and Safety policies/procedures including fire/evacuation procedures.

4. In co-operation with the Company’s Quality Manager, ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ISO 17025 and Forensic Regulator’s Code of Practice as applicable. Failure to comply with this will constitute a serious disciplinary offence.

5. To assist in maintaining adequate stocks of all reagents, chemicals, compressed gasses, consumables, kits, standard solutions etc. and participate in stock-taking so as to ensure uninterrupted availability of general laboratory items including consumables.

6. To carry out general laboratory housekeeping and cleaning programme in order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and maintain compliance with Health and Safety requirements.

7. To be responsible for the placement of orders using recognised suppliers and, from time to time, participate in the search for alternatives.

8. To be responsible for recording the receipt of supplies, samples and specimens delivered to the laboratory.

9. To ensure that the Facility Director is made aware of potential or actual infringements of policies/procedures e.g. by highlighting anomalous results.

10. To assist with the generation of facility-based records relating to general equipment and housekeeping activities. This function will be performed in close co-operation with the Quality Manager.

11. To undertake any other laboratory duties that may, from time to time, be required by the Facility Director or Section Heads.

12. To make verbal and written reports to Section Heads, the Facility Director or Study Directors as may be requested.

13. To participate in team meetings and take an active interest in the functions of the laboratory by reference to current literature.

**Administrative;**

14. To book samples into the laboratory’s processing and tracking software with keen attention to detail, including photographing sample packaging for evidential purposes.

16. To assist with the preparation of invoice information, as may be required.

17. To be responsible for handling incoming mail, franking outgoing mail and preparing packages requiring dispatch by courier.

18. To organise couriers for sample collections from clients’ premises and monitor the performance of couriers at all times.

19. To maintain an online results portal and database for management of patient information and reporting.
