Kids Pastor
Grace Kids is the children's ministry of Grace Church Family and we are currently looking for someone to join us to lead and co-ordinate the ministry.
**Background**
Our church plant is based in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, but although small, we are an incredibly active church. We already have 4 part time staff working for us, largely in our compassion ministries, which support several hundred people each month.
We have an active congregation of around 30-40 people at the moment, and around half of those involved on Sundays have never been a part of any other church.
We meet in the Banchory Business Centre from 10.30 am on a Sunday for coffee and pastries, with our service running from around 11am to 12.30pm.
**The Role**
Whilst we have an active team of volunteers to support our kids work programme, we are looking to hire a Kid's Pastor on a part-time basis.
Among other duties, the role will involve:
- planning and preparing for Grace Kids,
- leading on Sunday mornings (most weeks),
- training, managing, and co-ordinating volunteers, and
- handling enquiries from parents.
The Kid's Pastor will report to the Senior Pastor as their line manager on a regular basis regarding the operations of the Grace Kids. Participation in staff team meetings, training, and in other settings will also be expected.
**Requirements**:
- hold a personal faith in Jesus and willing to accept the statement of faith of the charity
- a passion for children's ministry
- a desire to become an active part of the church family
- suitable experience of working with kids
- good organisational and logístical skills
- general IT skills (enough to be able to use programmes such as office, and to access youtube & other online content)
- a successful PVG check
**Other Expectations**
As a church we expect that our employees will support our vision, work towards our priorities, and reflect the culture we are seeking to promote.
Our vision is to be a growing church family, which is passionately committed to pursuing God's presence, and to carrying His Kingdom into our community and beyond.
In order to fulfil our vision we currently have 3 main priorities as a church. Those are worship, compassion, and outreach.
The culture we want to see reflected in our staff and leaders is one where we:
- honour God and others
- demonstrate servant leadership
- follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of those in leadership
- give of our heart, time, energy, and resources to the work of the kingdom
**Job Details**
The role is offered on a part time basis for 7 hours (equivalent to 1 day) per week, plus occasional paid overtime as agreed. The starting salary will be £12 per hour (£4,368 p.a.) with 8 weeks paid holiday per year.
A 3% pension contribution by the charity will also be available, where the employee contributes 5% of gross salary. Pre-agreed overtime will be paid at the standard rate of £12 per hour.
It is anticipated that the working pattern will involve 3 hours work on most Sunday mornings, 1 hour each week for staff meetings (time to be agreed), and 3 hours of preparation/administration time during the week, which can be worked flexibly.
