Support Practitioner

Make a positive difference in someone’s life by joining The Richmond Fellowship Scotland. We are recruiting for experienced Support Practitioners to join a new service in Falkirk, where you will be providing 2:1 support.
The service has a range of needs, and CALM and PBST play a huge role in day to day life in this service so previous experience is essential.
You must be a driver, with access to your own vehicle, due to the rural location of this service, and must have a Full UK Driving licence, to drive the mobility car.
You will be required to work 12-13 hour shifts, including night shift on a rota basis.
**About the Role**:
Your responsibilities will depend on the needs of the individuals that you support and can include:
- ** Social Support**:
- This particular role will include caring for a person who really enjoys walking, swimming, eating out, computers and music. This role is a great opportunity to help this young man develop his interests and enjoy the local and wider environment to get the most out of life.
- ** Medical Support**:
- Administering and monitoring medication.
- ** Personal Care**:
- Assist people to maintain their wellbeing by promoting their personal care which would include assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, arranging visits with professionals such as dentists, doctors or opticians, assisting with incontinence care.
- ** Practical Support**:
- Helping people to maintain their tenancy by encouraging daily household tasks such as general housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, shopping.

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland provides personalised and outcome-focused support to over 2800 individuals in their own homes across Scotland, making us the country's largest provider of social care. We support individuals with a variety of different needs such as physical and/or learning disabilities, ongoing mental health issues, alcohol or substance abuse and autism. Some of the people we support can present challenging behaviour or require a high level of personal care.
