ACCOUNTABLE TO: Specialist Services Operations Manager

LOCATION: Various hospitals. Head Office based in Greenhithe

HOURS OF WORK: flexible hours

SHIFT PATTERN: TBC

SALARY: £15 per hour

The post holder will work within the high dependency and secure transport division, ensuring safe transportation of service users/ patients, diagnosed with mental health conditions, transporting them from one destination to another, providing care and support even when faced with challenging behaviour.

The individual will ensure the safe transportation of service users detained under the mental health act, maintaining a safe, caring, professional and efficient level of service at all times. Where necessary they will provide assistance in line with Secure transport training and policies.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- To provide a professional and caring service for all patients whilst in the care of Savoy Ventures, always ensuring that patient safety remains paramount and that safe systems of work are adhered to.
- To support and transport vulnerable service users as part of a team.
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed according to current policies and procedures and in line with HSE requirements.
- To be able to attend the office within 30 minutes when on call.
- Safe use of Company vehicles and equipment, preparing the required patient paperwork and driving to local and national locations.
- In the event of an incident, you may be required to administer first aid in accordance to your clinical grade.
- To ensure that statutory regulations and organisational policies and procedures are always implemented and adhered to. This will include but not limited to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018), and accurate reporting of facts concerning accidents or incidents to control and hospital personnel.
- To take part in staff development programmes, regular development reviews and annual performance development reviews and/or undertake further training if and when required.
- To work to the values of the organisation and display high standards of integrity and professionalism towards clients and colleagues, and to always act in a manner consistent with legislation, policy and procedures in respect of Equality and Diversity.
- To continuously develop and update own knowledge and skills within the job role and contribute to setting own work objectives, and to ensure up to date with company policies, procedures and staff handbook.
- Take accountability for own continual professional development and reflective practice for learning.
- Achieve business KPI’s, goals and objectives.

Key Skills:

- Valid Manual Driving Licence for the UK held for a minimum of 2 years.
- Passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to reliably adapt and work well under pressure.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of national geography is desirable.
- Have a valid medical qualification.
- A valid PMVA certificate is desirable but not essential

An Enhanced DBS Check with Barred lists included, is required for this role.

Due to the of the nature of the work, this post is exempt from the provisions of Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, by virtue of the Exceptions Order 1975 as amended. This means that all convictions, including those that are “spent” under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, but excluding those that are “protected” under the Exceptions Order, will be made known to us.
