A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Belfast City Centre.
**Your new role**
You will provide a comprehensive range of business support activities in relation to the administration and relating to the effective delivery of the PEACE IV Programme, financed through the EU. You will assist in providing advice and guidance to staff in theunit on administrative and financial matters. You will provide support in the administration, recording and monitoring of PEACE IV funded programme. You will also support the implementation of the Plan and its communications strategy through event planningand coordination and in the preparation of communications and publicity materials throughout the implementation of the Plan.
**What you'll need to succeed**
At least one year's relevant experience in each of the following three areas;
- developing administrative and financial processes and systems to enable the collation and reporting of information to management;
- assisting with procuring goods and services ensuring compliance with procurement regulations; and
- planning, organising and coordinating events and activities.
You should also have
- Excellent Written communication skills: a good standard of literacy, comprehension and grammar, having past experience of composing reports and letters at an operational level.
- A high level of computer literacy with evidence of previous experience in the use of specialist software and generic software packages to assist in preparing complex data and to interrogate/manipulate IT systems and computerised financial management systems.
- Excellent team working skills, be someone who works enthusiastically with others to exceed agreed targets and objectives.
- strong analytical skills and must be capable of providing management with practical solutions to problems from analysing statistical information in order to make informed decisions about service requirements.
- a good knowledge of budget preparation and financial reporting
- good inter-personal skills with experience in customer care procedures and awareness of the importance of responding to the needs of both internal and external customers.
- an understanding of council structure, departments, their main functions and a general understanding of the council and committee structure.
- an ability to prioritise work and follow through programmes to ensure that work is satisfactorily completed.
