The Growth Company’s Employment team are looking for a Tutor (Offender Services) to support the Hub Manager and Activity Hub Team Lead to develop, promote, deliver, and assess several short interventions that address life skills, confidence, motivation, attitudes and behaviours, and support participants to address barriers to achievement and progression, by empowering and equipping them to be able to achieve their goals. There will also be an opportunity to deliver some accredited courses which will require formal formative and summative assessment.

The Activity Hub in Yorkshire builds its foundation from a community ethos which aims to support people on Probation (our participants) on a community order or licence to develop social capital through a range of interventions. This will also include close working with the National Probation Service and partnerships.

You will provide one-to-one and group work support for hub participants to deliver a range of information, guidance and training which contribute to the participants’ journey and progression into employment, training, education, and a life free from crime.

**This is a Fixed Term Contract until June 2024**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Promote interventions and courses and help recruit participants to maximise engagement levels.
- Carry out initial and ongoing assessment to ensure that participants are suited to hub interventions and courses and that they are receiving the right level of support and form an individualised pathway enhancing the participant’s development.
- Plan and design appropriate training programmes and interventions, considering individual participant requirements to ensure differentiation of learning.
- Adopt effective use of new technologies and digital platforms.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging training to encourage participants to attend and complete their hub actions and activities.
- Deliver interventions and programmes at the hub itself, but also on an outreach basis at other community and voluntary sector venues.
- If applicable, prepare participants to successfully undertake assignments or sit tests/exams to maintain high success rates.
- Deliver accredited courses, including formative and summative assessments as well as potential invigilation of the final exams.
- Monitor and track participants’ progress, including via reviews, to ensure high attendance and achievement rates.
- Provide structured feedback and set development objectives.
- Moderate coursework and liaise with if applicable, external moderators to ensure that awarding body standards and deadlines are met.

- Experience of working with a diverse range of people who have experienced a range of social/personal difficulties and the need to use tact and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Experience in planning and coordinating work.
- Experience of working with groups or individuals in order to motivate and change behaviour.
- An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity good practice.
