**Personnel Vetting Officer**

**As Personnel Vetting Officer, you will**:

- Maintain vetting records in accordance with management system arrangements and conversant of GDPR/DPA regulations.
- Produce management information to support metrics for reporting of pre-employment screening and vetting processes.
- Develop and maintain effective filing and retrieval systems to enable the accurate maintenance of personnel security aftercare activities for NWS contractors, including the maintenance of clearance status and sponsor details of individuals on specific projects.
- Provision of support to sponsors in the ongoing maintenance of the clearances that they sponsor and any ongoing/annual aftercare requirements.
- Manage personnel security data and files and ensure all information is kept secure and in accordance with the relevant Information Security and Data Protection policies.
- Ensure that functional personnel security databases are accurately updated in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain effective filing and retrieval systems to enable the accurate maintenance of personnel security aftercare activities for NWS contractors, including the maintenance of clearance status and sponsor details of individuals on specific projects.
- Day-to-day administration of personal information related to vetting records.
- Facilitate all elements of personnel security required to deliver the personnel security capability as required.
- Comply with the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments. Support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety Environment and Quality within NWS. Maintenance of NWS’s security arrangements]

**Essentials**
- Educated to at least GCSE level including English and Maths
- Working knowledge of the pre-employment screening process and in particular, HMG and ONR pre-employment screening process and related information/documentation requirements
- Experience of working within a professional, well regulated environment requiring clear standards of confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines, and excellent attention to detail
- Proven experience of performing high quality administrative duties without regular supervision
- Well-developed office skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

**Desirables**
- Previous experience with pre-employment screening, vetting aftercare and document verification would be beneficial, but training can be provided
