Ground Worker

Digging It Groundworks has extensive experience providing a complete range of appropriate services as professional contractors to the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.
We are currently looking for a Groundworker to join our construction team in Andover. Typically work on a variety of construction projects, such as residential houses, commercial buildings, roads, and infrastructure.
The main duties and responsibilities of a groundworker may include:
- Excavating and digging trenches for foundations, drainage systems, and utility lines.
- Laying pipes, cables, and conduits for utilities such as water, gas, electricity, and telecommunications.
- Installing drainage and sewer systems, including manholes and inspection chambers.
- Backfilling excavations and compacting soil to ensure stable foundations.
To be successful in this role, a groundworker should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience in construction and working on-site.
- Physical fitness and ability to withstand demanding and labor-intensive tasks.
- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to follow them diligently.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with colleagues, supervisors, and other tradespeople.
