We have a large 10,000 square metre warehouse (100,000 square feet) at our head office and distribution centre in Accrington, with narrow aisle, high bay racking. Our warehouse features six loading dock facilities and vehicle drive-in facilities, and we can also offer value-added services such as pick, and pack and pallet break down and consolidation. The site is conveniently located in a business park, just five minutes away from a major motorway network.

We are also approved to store hazardous products under COMAH Lower Tier as monitored by the Health & Safety Executive for the storage and handling of hazardous goods. In addition to this, the majority of our drivers are ADR accredited and have many years’ experience in the transport of dangerous and hazardous goods. We can provide a full warehousing and distribution solution for companies who distribute and manufacture hazardous goods.

Safety is paramount in the operation; therefore, comprehensive leadership is required in the fields of personal and process safety. It is a key requirement that the Warehouse Supervisor will be able to understand and implement all relevant legislation and standards. They will also be responsible for the integrity and compliance of all associated equipment.

**The Role**

We are now seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our management team in Altham who will be a strong man manager to continue our drive to change, improve and become more efficient. They will lead a small warehouse team and ensure their performance and compliance standards are maintained and improved where necessary.

**The main responsibilities will include**:

- Manage the performance and development of all warehouse staff.
- Ensure all loading and dispatch requirements are met.
- Ensure all storage is in line with company requirements to meet all COMAH legislation.
- Ensure all picks are completed and audited daily.
- Co-ordinate with other business functions to ensure that plans and objectives for the business are met and the warehouse is utilised to its full potential.
- Operate and maintain procedures and work instructions to meet the requirements for the Company’s Quality System and ISO 9000 registration.
- Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance activity are conducted in a robust and timely manner. Ensure integrity of all assets is in line with policy and procedure.

**As such we would like you to**:

- Have strong previous experience of managing a pick Operation.
- Possess sound working knowledge of COMAH and other HSE regulations.
- To successfully manage a high volume, flexible warehousing operation on a day-to-day basis within a lower tier COMAH warehouse
- Able to demonstrate proven safety, people management and leadership skills.
- Be able to organize resources in line with operational needs and manage performance through KPIs.
- Possess working knowledge of relevant legislation, safety and quality procedures and site operating instructions.
- Strong IT and presenting skills/experience.
