Synopsis of duties:

- To receive referrals from a variety of agencies where they identify women at risk as well as direct referrals from women who want to explore support and assistance. Where necessary provide advice to the agency to enable/ facilitate engagement as women mayalso present reluctant for help
- Assist victims/survivors to make informed choices ensuring they understand their human rights, legal entitlements and other support services available e.g. National Referral Mechanism
- Report adult and child safeguarding concerns working with women and relevant agencies to protect and keep her, and her family safe. Where appropriate provide support at case conferences, safeguarding discussions and other forums e.g. Multi Agency Risk AssessmentConferences ensuring the women are informed at all times of actions and decisions

Essential Requirements:

- Understanding of trauma informed approaches
- Knowledge of the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and the gendered nature of violence.
- Understanding of diversity and appreciation of culture in working with communities
