- An excellent opportunity to start a career, complete an apprenticeship and progress within an independent law practice. General duties may include making and receiving telephone calls, preparing precise attendance notes, and filing, etc.
- An office based legal/admin role offering the opportunity to become acquainted with the process of dealing client’s directly and working on a client’s case from start to finish.
- We hope the apprentice can become in important member of a busy team, assisting the fee-earners in the completion of their matters. Once fully familiar with the office we expect the apprentice to be able to work independently on a variety of legal matters.

**Future Prospects**

**The Law Practice**
- We are a small but busy office with a very friendly but focused approach. The apprentice will be sat in an open plan office alongside other members of staff.
- We are a busy solicitor’s practice in the areas of family, immigration, conveyancing, probate and civil law.

**Your role**

The role will include many of the following:

- Answers the telephone and provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Drafts correspondence.
- Orders supplies and equipment; maintains service contracts on office equipment.
- Attends meetings and takes meeting notes.
- Liaises with internal and external units to carryout job tasks.
- Assists managers and supervisors in developing policies and procedures.
- Provides front desk coverage as needed for backup.
- Handles administrative tasks for faculty searches and staff recruiting.
- Oversees department hiring procedures.
- Handles event planning for meetings, professional development, and other department initiatives.
- Audio typing
- Desks with key property related administration.
- Logs into and updates various portals
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Desired skills**
- **4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's**:

- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills

**Training to be provided**
- Level 3 in Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard
