Trainee Highways Operatives X5

We are currently looking to recruit Trainee Highway Maintenance Operatives based in the Cinderford area.

**As a highways operatives you will**:

- General maintenance of highway - Patchwork, tarmacking, landscaping etc.
- Unloading/loading of materials
- Using various highways tools and equipment
- Undertake out of hours winter maintenance and emergency works
- Undertake the gritting of the roads on your allocated route and all the associated activities required to deliver the Winter Service
- Always ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act
- Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect member of the public.

**Skills and experience required**:

- Are able to take responsibility for traffic management.
- Have the ability to deal effectively with peers, client representatives and the general public.
- Understand and follow basic work procedures to ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- CSCS card (Not essential)
