BAM FM are recruiting a Handyperson to work alongside a team of specialised technicians providing a fully encompassing service delivery plan for our client, based in **Brighton**. The role requires the successful applicant to carry out various roles within the building, including carrying out planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks as they occur across the site.

**Working hours are 8:00am - 4.30pm. On call rota is required.**

**Your mission**
- Carry out Emergency Light Testing
- Carry out replacement of light fittings including tubes and bulbs
- Carry out ceiling tile replacements and or redecoration.
- Carry out Tap Temperature Tests and keep accurate records
- To clear blockages, remove foreign matter from sinks, toilets drains etc and clear up spillages where required. Replacing of toilet syphons etc.
- First line maintenance of fixtures and fixings, examples: tightening screws, minor repairs and temporary measures after damage etc.
- Maintain appropriate records where required.
- Update and maintain CAFM system.
- Carry out escorting duties of Sub Contractors
- Identify spare parts to carry out repairs and order through appropriate channels.
- Assist the mobile engineering team
- Liaise with the client
- Inspection and fault finding
- Provide general support duties.
- Ensure the operation of heating plant, fire alarm systems and lighting systems.
- Other reasonable requests when required.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Experience as a Handyperson in a busy service environment,
- Recognised trade qualification would be desirable
- Knowledge of General H&S Regulations, to be able to understand and carry out the preparation of Risk Assessments and producing Method Statements for works within the site.
- Must be experienced and self-motivated and able to identify concerns / defects without direction.
- Reliable. (Through regular reviews of works attendance, attitude and competence).
- Whilst the role is initially based on site there may be future requirements to cover more than one site.
- Basic plumbing/mechanical and electrical experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Must be physically fit as the job involves a lot of walking.
- Ability to use initiative in day to day duties.
