In this role you will cover the Facilities management of operational sites across the UK, helping to shape the way facilities are managed and oversee the day-to-day maintenance of GBRf and customer infrastructure.
You will liaise with 3rd party contractors to ensure work undertaken is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in line with legislative requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver innovative solutions to any facility problems.
This role will initially be on a 6-month fixed term contract to support the existing team of Facilities Managers. Previous facilities experience is a must and you must be in close proximity to our Doncaster or Peterborough office where you will be requried to work when not visiting sites.
Closing date: 5th April 24 - immediate start
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance on designated locations
- Follow up infrastructure fault items reported on GBRf control log that affect GBRf owned locations.
- Oversee the management of operational and office facilities expenditure with CBRE and others to ensure the delivery within budget and cost saving initiatives are applied to ensure GBRf achieve ‘best value for money’.
- Carry out regular site inspections.
- Support the Facilities Team to improve their productivity, ensure their safety, wellbeing and provide opportunities for continuous professional development.
- Oversee the relocation and refurbishment of offices and operation facilities within the designated region.
- Maintain auditable records of track patrol and engineer inspections.
- Ensure any infrastructure fault items that are reported to Control and are dealt with accordingly.
- You will also need to ensure environmental assessment are complete and compliant with current legislation.
- Manage the depot infrastructure within the designated area, including lighting, concrete pads and storage structures.
- Ensure any work delivered meets company standards and work is delivered safely and efficiently by compliant contractors.

- Facilities / Project Management qualifications (desirable)
- Rail industry experience (desirable)

- Self-starter - able to work on their own or as part of a team.
- Flexible and able to travel to all facilities in the North location.
- A can-do attitude - not afraid to get involved across the whole FM remit and wider team.
- High attention to detail
- Confident with a professional manner
- Full driving licence - vehicle will be provided.
