The duties of the role are as follows:
- Responsible for housekeeping within your respective dept.
- Responsible for reporting Near Misses into the system.
- Responsible for ensuring that training is being followed in practice.
- Responsible for working on arrangements with your department head when requested to progress arrangements within the business.
- Responsible for sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best and most cost-effective contracts and deals.
- Responsible for overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the Purchasing Team.
- Responsible for ensuring you and your direct reports adhere to the procurement and supply chain policies and procedures.
- Responsible for adhering to budgets set by the senior management team and supporting the budget holders in achieving their annual procurement plans.
- Responsible for conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
- Responsible for stock control, management, and re-ordering supplies and stocks.
- Responsible for analysing, comparing, and approving for products and services to be purchased.
- Responsible for analysing usage of purchased products to look for opportunities for cost reduction.
- Responsible for establishing professional relationship with suppliers and vendors.
- Responsible for supporting budget holders in their relationship with suppliers, including attending supplier meetings with them if necessary.
- Responsible for contract management and ensuring that budget holders make timely decisions on required contract extensions or contract close-outs.
- Responsible for identifying opportunities for continual improvement in services and improving value for money through the procurement process.
