Outdoor Investigator

**Main purpose of the role**:
To support Personal Injury Lawyers by taking Witness Statements to support personal injury and other claims. To relay important information obtained from clients and their witnesses to the lawyer overseeing the cases and to give their advice on any evidence obtained.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Interviewing clients and witnesses as requested by the PI fee earners.
- Prepare written statements
- Attend joint site inspections
- Locus reports - photographs and sketch plans.
- Making enquiries to trace/locate potential witnesses.
- Delivery of urgent and important work, eg Briefs to Counsel
- Service of Witness Summonses
- Process serving.
- Attending hospitals and other establishments where the Company advertises in order to top up advertising leaflet containers.
- Other duties required within the spirit and scope of the post.

**Essential skills and experience**:

- Experience of professional witness statement taking.
- ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with diverse audiences.
- Effective organisation and time management skills
- A strong team player.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-[aced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality.
- Ability to take direction, ask appropriate questions and complete tasks independently.
