**Role Summary**

We seek an enthusiastic Assistant Registrar to oversee the management of our Recruitment and
Admissions processes and manage financial support schemes for incoming students. This post covers the management of:

- Student Recruitment Activities
- The admissions process
- UCAS Conservatoires
- Student Induction
- Matriculation

This post requires an experienced student-facing administrator with a background in recruitment and admissions who is able to:

- provide an effective service to all prospect applicants, applicants, staff and our broader community
- ensure services related to recruitment and admissions are developed to fulfil the strategic aims of the Conservatoire
- manage a range of computerised and digitally based systems which enable transitions into the RCS, including financial systems
- work closely with the staff involved in international student recruitment, admissions and compliance to ensure a high-quality international student experience and RCS’s status as a licensed sponsor with UKVI
- respond to a targets/ KPIs informed approach to recruitment and admissions
- manage a defined budget under the direction of the Academic Registrar and Secretary and the Student Recruitment Group and undertake regular reviews of income generation potential and value for money within the department where appropriate. ]The Assistant
Registrar has overall responsibility for monitoring the allocation of portions of budgets to international and home recruitment activities.

Main

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the recruitment and admissions team in implementing RCS’ student recruitment strategy and plans
- Liaise closely with relevant programme/departments and all RCS professional services to ensure a systematic recruitment and admissions applicant and student experience
- Manage, through a principle of shared responsibility, international admissions’ administration, compliance, and financial support schemes for incoming students (UK

wide and international), including acting as the Second Primary Destination Point for the
US Fed Loans system
- Advise and ensure that policies and procedures are established and developed that support the function of student recruitment and admissions, and are regularly reviewed to take account of changes to legislation and best practice (including those related to quality assurance and compliance)
- In relation specifically to **Student Recruitment**: o Manage the implementation of the planned programme of annual recruitment activity and ensure these are effectively communicated across the Conservatoire, guided by individual Programme / Department Strategies and Implementation Plans o Act as secretary to the Strategic Recruitment Group (SRG) o In collaboration with the RCS Statistician & Data Analyst, produce regular updates comparing applicant numbers to targets/KPIs and provide relevant reports to the
- In relation to specifically to **Admissions**, o Manage the Conservatoire’s admissions processes in accordance with

Conservatoire policy thereby ensuring effective delivery of the admissions process
(including timeous and accurate correspondence with applicants). o Monitor applicant intake providing summary reports and recommendations as appropriate. o Provide an authoritative source of advice to a range of customers, including applicants, staff, International agents and external customers (e.g. schools) regarding the Conservatoire’s admissions processes. o Identify and develop operational systems and processes to enhance service provision, particularly in the area of student admissions. o Manage and develop the applicants’ module of the Student Records System, thereby ensuring accurate and comprehensive applicant data. o Assist with the Disclosure Scotland / PVG process in relation to student admissions.

Conservatoire website and prospectus (and other promotional materials) in respect of admissions requirements and processes. o Ensure that all literature relating to the admissions process (guides, forms etc.) is timeously updated and published. o Liaise with a range of external agencies including Student Loans Company, US Fed
