Our client is looking for a Lead QC Inspector for a contract position, located in Aberdeen.

**Role**

The job holder is responsible for the inspection of machined parts including CMM and NDT inspections ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and signed off. The job holder is responsible for ensuring the continued training and development of the QC team and apprentices in the QC department.

**Responsibilities**
- Carry out CMM and Faro arm inspection of components.
- Calibration and control of measuring equipment
- Training and mentoring of QC team and apprentices including developing training methods and documentation.
- Support QHSE supervisor in ensuring the QC department is developed so that all team members have cross functional competence.
- Ensuring compliance to all relevant Standards and customer specifications
- Assisting QA team in internal and external audits
- Conduct inspection of raw material/components throughout the various stages of manufacture, maintaining traceability and complete all relevant documentation.
- Carry out NDT inspections and hardness checks as per customer specifications and complete relevant reports.
- Attend and contribute to the daily inspection prioritisation huddles.
- Raise and report all non-conformances to production and ensure the relevant information is recorded.
- Ensure all QA/QC operations are completed in ERP system and route cards signed off.
- Assist in the creation of Document packs and Dimensional reports as and when required.
- Assist in investigating, resolving, and finding the root cause of any problems which may be causing non-conforming products and thereby maintaining productivity.
- Assisting Management in the implementation of all Company HSEQ policies and procedures
- Assisting employees with problem solving
- Reporting any methods or procedures to improve quality and efficiency to the Management.
- Employees are expected to work whatever reasonable hours are necessary to meet the requirements of their job

- Promoting Health and Safety policies and communicate effective awareness of the risks and hazards to all personnel and maintain controls necessary for their safety and that of others.
- Performing all duties in accordance with the Company’s Quality Procedures and work Instructions in order to deliver and maintain the highest standards of quality for all products and services.
- To develop self within role and participate in and develop from training and developmental activities assigned to oneself.
- To engage and promote continuous improvement program.
- To create and maintain good working relationships.
- In addition to these duties/responsibilities there maybe requirement to carry out others as reasonably required.

**Requirements**:
**Experience**:

- Time Served, with HNC/C&G or NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent relevant experience
- CMM Programming and Inspection - essential
- Faro Arm Programming and Inspection - essential
- Calibration of measuring equipment - essential
- QPulse and ProgressPlus preferred but not essential
- Experience in a similar role

Educational:

- IOSH training
- Microsoft Office
- NDT ASNT/PCN Level II
