Roofers Mate

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer's Mate to join our team within the social housing sector. As a Roofer's Mate, you will assist experienced roofers in carrying out roofing repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and integrity of social housing properties. Your role will involve working closely with the roofing team to complete projects efficiently and to the highest standards. **Responsibilities**:

- Assist roofers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems in social housing properties.
- Prepare work areas by removing debris, setting up ladders, scaffolding, and other necessary equipment.
- Carry roofing materials and tools to and from the work area.
- Support roofers in measuring, cutting, and shaping roofing materials, such as tiles, shingles, and metal sheets.
- Help with the removal of old or damaged roofing materials.
- Assist in the installation of insulation and vapor barriers.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
- Clean up work areas after completing projects to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Follow instructions provided by the roofing team and complete tasks efficiently.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a Roofer's Mate or similar role is preferred, but not essential. Training will be provided.
- Knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and techniques is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions from experienced roofers.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and working at heights.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks within designated deadlines.
- Health and safety awareness and willingness to adhere to all safety protocols.

Salary and Benefits:

- The starting salary for the Roofer's Mate position is £32,000 per annum.
- Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the salary will rise to £34,000 per annum.
