FILTROX Carlson Ltd was established in 1923 by John C Carlson and has been based at Butts Mill in Barnoldswick, England since 1950.

From that time to the present day, the company has developed a strong position in the marketplace for filtration equipment and filtration media in various forms from depth filter sheets to high performance cartridges.

From the Barnoldswick factory the company distributes products throughout the UK and to over 130 countries through an extensive network of agents and distributors.

We have an exciting opportunity for a HSEQ Manager to join our quality, growing team.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
Reporting directly to the MD, the successful applicant will ensure a continued improvement in the standards of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality. You will ensure the company’s management systems meet the needs of the business and continue to operateto the requirements of recognised national and international management standards.
- Maintain the Group Quality Management System (FOS) to the requirements of ISO 9001 at the UK site
- Maintain the Integrated Management System to meet the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Manage compliance with all relevant Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation
- Ensure regular scheduled safety checks are carried out
- Conduct investigations for safety and environmental incidents
- Conduct general risk assessments for the site
- Specify suitable PPE where required
- Provide assistance, training and communicate company H&S policies to all staff
- Work closely with the Global QA team
- Maintain the company documentation on the FOS system using SharePoint
- Maintain the HACCP system and food safety standards
- Chair the Environment, Health & Safety committee
- Provide information and guidance to the management team
- Manage the Employee Training & Development System
- Work with the HR administrator to establish training needs and maintain records
- Conduct internal audits - identify and communicate the areas requiring corrective or improvement action.
- Maintain accreditation to all relevant national and international standards (e.g. FDA Kosher, NSF)

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- Comprehensive understanding of Integrated Management Systems & best practice in a manufacturing environment
- Comprehensive understanding of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
- NEBOSH national certificate (qualified or willing to become so), lead or Internal Auditor qualified.
- Experience maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and root cause analysis
- Proactive approach to improving the company’s HSEQ management systems
- Excellent oral and written English with the ability to communicate effectively
- A high level of competency and accuracy in creating and maintaining professional documentation relating to integrated management systems
- Strong planning, organisational, teamwork and presentation skills

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge of food contact safety standards e.g., ISO 22000, GFSI
- Membership of relevant professional organisation(s) e.g., IOSH, CQI, IMEA
- Experience of working with Microsoft 365 including SharePoint and Teams would be an advantage.
