**The Role and Department**
The Transactional Financial Team represents the larger part of the Finance Department and includes all the processing and compliance functions including e.g., Cash Management and Reconciliation, Accounts Payable, Student Services and Credit control approx. and responsibility for the Financial Accounts (FTE 47). The Head of Financial Accounting is a key role within the Finance Department, reporting to the Financial Controller.

The role is responsible for the Accounts Payable, Cash Management and Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Financial Accounts Teams within the wider Transactional Finance Team. The role includes Treasury services Team (FTE 9), Accounts Payable team (FTE 12) and Financial Accounting Team (FTE 10). The areas covered by these teams are cashiers, posting all bank statements receipts and payments both sterling and foreign, Payroll Reconciliations, Bank Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Cashflow forecasting daily/weekly/monthly, Endowments, Loans etc., payment of invoices, BACS runs, and preparation of lead schedules for external audit.
