**About Us**:
Peterborough Women’s Aid was formed in 1975. The organisation has grown since that time providing not only safe and secure accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse, but also provides specific an Advice Line Services and Outreach.

**About the role**:
We currently have an opportunity for a **Domestic Abuse Worker** supporting male victims to join Peterborough Women’s Aid.

You will provide practical and emotional support to male survivors of domestic abuse. This will include telephone support or face to face contact where appropriate and needed.

You will need a flexible approach to client support and service delivery, as you may be required to undertake community calls outside of office hours. You will need access to transport as this position is countywide.

**The Role includes**:

- To carry out risk assessments using the DASH (Domestic Abuse Stalking and Harassment) and the Respect Tool Kit
- To accept new referrals and contact clients to offer emotional and practical support and listening within 72 hours.
- Conduct an assessment of need, safety planning, and signposting to other agencies when required.
- To assess, plan and implement services to meet the needs of individual clients who request help as a result of their Domestic Abuse experiences.
- To provide face to face support in an outreach capacity when required and appropriate.
- To facilitate training and advice sessions to professionals and community members around male victims of domestic abuse
- Provide advocacy with external agencies on behalf of victims where appropriate.
- Ensure victims are aware of their legal rights to protection for themselves and their children.
- Arrange provision of legal advice and accompany the clients to appointments if appropriate.
- To raise awareness of domestic abuse against men across Cambridgeshire.
- To complete training relevant to the role, for example IDVA training.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
