This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Director. The role of the Quality Assurance Officer is to support and challenge the operational, care and clinical teams to ensure we are fully compliant with all CQC regulations, Local Authority standards, governance and audit measures, policies and procedures. You will also assist in ensuring business objectives and targets are met.

You will continuously monitor the quality and performance of our services, identify any instances of non-compliance and quickly take action to bridge any gaps in our offering.

Some of the key duties will be:
- Support with the Group’s quality assurance and compliance function, ensuring robust procedures are in place for monitoring and reporting on all KPI’s e.g. care, governance, kitchen, health & safety, etc;
- Carry out a variety of audits to ensure standards are maintained and legal requirements are met;
- Support in implementing quality management and improvement systems;
- Maintain full, accurate and up to date records;
- Produce action plans to focus on continuous quality improvement and assurance, working with our care and nursing home teams to imbed process improvements;
- Project support on quality assurance and compliance initiatives;
- Support the Company’s activity in being fully compliant with the Health and Social Care Act; and conforms in all respects with the standards and requirements of CQC and any Local Authority with which the Company is contracted with;
- Support the operational and care/nursing teams in the promotion of Service Users safety and well-being;
- Promote safe working practices.

Key attributes and skills:

- Must have Level 5 Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent;
- Good knowledge and experience of medication management;
- A good knowledge of person-centred care planning and risk management;
- Empathetic with excellent communication and people skills;
- Good IT skills especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook;
- Good planning and organisational skills “with a can-do attitude”;
- Flexible and adaptable to work across multiple sites and on various projects.

**Requirements / Experience**
- At least two years’ experience working within a Care Compliance or Quality Assurance Role
- At least 5 years previous care experience to at least Deputy Manager level
- Good understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 Regulated Activities (2014 Regulations), Care Act 2014, Coronavirus Act 2020 and the Mental Capacity Act
- Ability to handle and support organisational change
- Good understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998, Caldicott Principles and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
