Our local authority client has a 3-month contract vacancy (with the possibility of extension) for the role of a REPAIRS AND MAINTAINANCE MANAGER, details as follows

**Job Purpose**

To help develop and implement the delivery of a modern, effective, customer focused and high performing property maintenance service.

**Responsibilities**
- Managing the commercial focus of property maintenance services, improve innovation and the consideration of non-traditional solutions that increase quality and value;
- Implementing a culture of customer service and continuous improvement by ensuring the implementation of high performance standards and high levels of productivity;
- Ensuring that strategic risk mitigations are delivered;
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and statutory requirements governing areas of responsibility; To help develop and implement relevant strategies to maximise the value and potential value of current and future housing assets;
- To create a team where a culture of excellent customer service is a key focus for all job activities.
- To grow talent and capability in the team by undertaking all employee appraisals timely and effectively, addressing any issues as appropriate.
- To build pride, passion and reputation by creating a Council of excellence through strong motivational leadership.

**Essential Requirements**
- Must have significant experience of managing technical and trades staff, contractors and suppliers.
- To have a proven ability to successfully prepare, report and implement complex policies and strategies;
- To have strong commercial property maintenance skills and an understanding of external markets and potential business opportunities, including all elements of contract management;
- To have senior management experience and a proven track record in delivering modern, effective, customer focused and high performing property maintenance services;
- To have detailed knowledge and understanding of the impact of the regulatory framework and government policy on asset management programmes;
