The key function of the Sales Department is to generate the maximum amount of revenue from Channel 4’s programmes and products and on behalf of UKTV and Discovery’s advertising opportunities. Whilst at the same time, deliver great customer service and work with the wider business to deliver the Channel 4 remit.
- It employs a number of people who work across a range of related functions, including Agency & Client, Sales, Business Development, Digital, Partnership, Trading, Sales Development, and Sales Operations.
- Most employees are based in London; but there are also growing sales teams in Manchester as well as an outsourced business in Dublin.**JOB PURPOSE**

The Campaign Team is responsible for the creation and delivery of maximum revenue across all means of viewing.
- The purpose of the Campaign Assistant role within the Campaign team is to book and administer both Linear and Digital campaigns in conjunction with the Airtime Sales team.
- This will be done under the guidance of a Campaign Executive. This level of service is to be attributed to all channels and platforms across our portfolio.
- The Campaign Assistant will help the Campaign Executive in all aspects of delivery and monitoring of deals to ensure the most efficient delivery of deals across all revenue streams
- An essential requirement is to ensure that the C4 sales department generates the maximum amount of revenue across all our revenue streams.
- The Campaign Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all advertising copy we receive and process from creative agencies are fit for transmission, have passed all regulatory compliance and are suitable for all designated channels. This includes ensuring that the correct advertising copy is scheduled and that all content and timing restrictions are appropriate as per Clearcast guidance.
- This role is a key point of contact for creative agencies, the traffic team and the wider sales team. The Campaign Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that advertising copy queries are responded to promptly ahead of relevant deadlines. The role will also be responsible for supporting the campaign team in set up, checking and monitoring online and linear campaigns for their allocated Agencies.
- They will need to ensure that sales revenue is maintained and sales policy is adhered to efficiently across all revenue streams alongside their copy duties.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To develop a thorough understanding of all trading aspects of the Channel 4 revenue flow
- To develop a thorough knowledge of all Linear and Digital booking systems
- To monitor the delivery levels of all Digital and Linear campaigns on a daily, weekly, monthly basis highlighting any anomalies
- To ensure all Digital and Linear activity is booked and adhere to the internal booking cycle
- To understand and prioritize any late Linear or digital problems highlighted by Airtime Sales
- Problem solving throughout the month to maximize revenue for the channel
- Develop relationships with counterparts across all C4 Departments (including Airtime Sales & Traffic) to ensure conflicting demands are met across all revenue streams
- Communicates both verbally and written with all internal departments across all disciplines
- Resolves routine airtime and digital problems at a campaign level
- Escalate more complex problems to line management
- Prioritise workload in conjunction with Campaign Executives
- To support the channel in transmitting airtime in accordance with intentions of the advertising agencies and within the regulatory framework laid down by OFCOM/ASA.
- To ensure commercials for own agency patch is created in Stellar and ready for the regional Traffic team to then perform final checks and sequence breaks.
- Processing of copy rotation instructions accurately in our system from Caria and follow chasing process for any missing instructions.
- Ensure copy is available and delivered to all relevant playout suites.
- Extensive use of Copy Central, Peach, Adstream and any other copy delivery companies to ensure all copy is approved for broadcast and available in C4 systems ready for transmission.
- Liaising with Traffic Team on all copy matters regularly to ensure that deadline issues are resolved immediately.
- Support the wider campaign operations and sales team on matters relating to compliance and regulation.
- Ensure advertising material is delivered in good time for transmission.
- Communicate effectively and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
