**What you'll be doing**:
Reporting directly to the Bodily Injury Site Lead, you'll lead and manage a team of claims specialists who are dedicated to the management and resolution of defendant RTA claims. You'll ensure the efficient handling of claims whilst maintaining upholding our commitment to exceptional customer service. Your legal expertise will be put to good use as you provide valuable guidance on cases, dispute resolution, and legal strategies. You'll also nurture strong relationships with our panel solicitors and offer support to your team. With your deep understanding of legal principles, you'll help prevent litigation in the pre-litigation environment, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and facilitating well-informed decision-making.
- Oversee the Small Claims Portal (SCP)/Ministry of Justice (MOJ) litigation to ensure adherence to court procedures and guidelines
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of litigation in the SCP/MOJ arena and offer suitable guidance for each case
- Analyse team and departmental trends to provide valuable market insights and enhance our best practices and claims handling performance
- Maintain a clear perspective on litigation providers, nurturing a collaborative approach to achieve optimal outcomes
- Stay updated with industry news and changes, while identifying emerging trends and opportunities
- Plan and manage resources within your team and across the function, covering recruitment, absence, and succession/talent management
- Act as a technical referral for the team, making crucial decisions when significant cost risks, customer impact, or reputational implications are involved
- Identify trends and improvement opportunities across BI through effective data and MI analysis
- Create and sustain a high-quality employee experience and engagement by delivering excellent team communication and understanding and responding to your team members' motivations and drivers
- Role model and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the team and business performance. Identify potential opportunities to test, learn, and adapt and ensure appropriate governance is applied
- Contribute to monitoring and managing the budget and financial performance of your team and the wider function
- Ensure compliance within your team with all applicable internal complaints and regulatory requirements

**What we're looking for**:

- A background as a non-practising solicitor or a technical professional, possessing substantial expertise in Defendant Road Traffic Accident (RTA) claims
- Demonstrated leadership experience in claims management or a related domain
- Profound comprehension of the litigation process and knowledge of insurance regulations
- A commitment to precision and adherence to regulations
- Experience meeting and exceeding targets
