**Overview**

2fawcett are recruiting for a **Transport Planner **to join a successful business based in North Leicestershire.

**Responsibilities of the Transport Planner**
- Plan, organise and manage the work of designated staff to ensure that the work is in line with organisational requirements.
- Ensure that an accurate record of all administrated activity is completed and transmitted to the agreed parties within the agreed timetables as per the agreed SLA’s with customers
- Liaise with the Compliance manager to ensure the planning and control of repairs and maintenance to designated equipment and vehicles to ensure the legislative needs and the operational needs of the business are maintained
- To act as the main point of contact for all designated driving staff
- Creation of accurate consignment information on behalf of customers onto relevant IT systems
- Creation of the charging of tariff classifications by customer
- To support the Traffic Administrator in the creation and maintenance of management information from the business systems
- To act as a conduit between transport and the warehousing management team
- To produce a clear set of handover instructions for all activities to be undertaken through the night or prior to the commencement of the next working day including clear loading plans
- To generate revenues through the securing of third party business to complement the fleet activity
- To act as the key point of contact for customers ensuring that a prompt and efficient response is given to all queries raised in a timely manner and confirmed in writing
- To identify on-going training needs for both personal development and for designated staff

**Requirements of the Transport Planner**
- **Must have non-3PL (3rd Party Logistics) experience** - i.e. inhouse logístical experience
- To take responsibility for the day to day running of designated fleet operations
- Monitor operations to ensure that all drivers comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
- To generate profitable revenues through the tasking of the designated fleet and to monitor service levels provided to the customer
- To take responsibility for the generation of accurate management information of all transport related activities under your direct control from booking in to the securing of POD’s
- To act as the Key Point Of Contact for all designated customers and suppliers
