We have an amazing opportunity for a driver to join our caring and support team at our Granville Lodge service in Hartlepool, supporting** **children and young people who cannot be cared for at home, most commonly because they need a high level of skilled care.

The post involves driving vehicles to transport users safely and to follow pre-determined schedules and organise routes as appropriate to transport patients safely and efficiently.

We believe Granville Lodge is a special place. It is purposely small, just nine beds, and is located in an adapted Victorian house in a quiet residential street in Hartlepool. Whilst the children staying with us have clinical needs, we have taken great care to ensure our centre still feels like a family home. Children staying with us permanently can decorate their own rooms, just as they can at home, and we encourage our young people, wherever possible, to be part of the running of their home and to try out new experiences.

**What you'll be working**:
Bank - to cover service needs. This may include mornings, afternoons and evenings - weekdays and weekends.**What you'll be doing**:

- Drive vehicles in a professional and competent manner at all times.
- To undertake specified daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is in a roadworthy state and clean. Report any defects or damage in line with THG protocols.
- To complete all documentation of the above on a daily basis or within the designated time-fame.
- To treat all patients and customers with courtesy and respect at all times, displaying empathy and providing reassurance where appropriate
- Transporting patients in the company vehicles and mini-buses
- Responsible for assisting patients on and off transport including wheelchair patients
- Establish methods of communication with patients, reducing barriers when necessary
- Communicate any issues to the clinical team
- Accurately report and/or record work activities

**What you'll have**:
Full Driving Licence is essential

Excellent Customer Service Skills

Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential as training is provided
