**About the Job**: We are seeking a personal assistant/support worker to support my son, a 16-year-old young man in Colwyn Bay. Duties will include supporting the young man with outdoor activities and accompanying him to Colwyn Bay leisure centre to allow him to take part in activities such as swimming, to increase his independence and socialisation skills, so confident and competent swimming skills are essential. You will be required to transport the young man to his activities, so access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover and full clean driving licence is required. 2 hours per week-term time, 6 hours a week college holidays, times/days to be discussed at interview; will include Wednesdays and Sundays but flexibility and ability to undertake overtime is desirable. £11.40 per hour

**Responsible to**: You will be directly responsible to your employer, the young man’s mother.

**Main Tasks**:
You will be required to transport the young man to his activities, so access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover and full clean driving licence is required

Help to develop my son’s swimming skills, accompany him in the pool and help him swim whilst maintaining constant supervision to keep him safe.

Take my son to the leisure centre to take part in activities

Support with my son building up his independence skills

Support my son in enjoying outdoor activities

Undertake any further training, as mutually agreed

Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed

Swimming ability and confidence in the water is essential

Establish a professional standard of care, which should be maintained at all times

Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the family

Respect the privacy of the family and uphold confidentiality at all times.

Be trustworthy and kind

Be punctual, reliable and have some flexibility

Be enthusiastic and be open to new experiences

Bear in mind that the role is one of empowerment for the young man
