This has led to a healthy future order book with several longer-term projects within the energy infrastructure and sectors.

We are currently seeking like-minded individuals to contribute to Gavia’s growing portfolio of renewable energy and linear infrastructure projects. As such we would like to employ a Senior Aquatic Ecologist with a high level of technical competence in aquatic ecology, experience of the EIA process and a good knowledge of terrestrial ecology.

**Location**

We are seeking to recruit to our Perth office. This vacancy will involve working across Scotland with periods of time away from home undertaking filed-based survey work.

**Essential knowledge & experience**

To be successful in this role, we expect you would have:

- Two to five years experience in an aquatic based role with experience gained from a variety of different projects;
- Knowledge and experience of water quality monitoring and parametric impacts;
- Competent in a variety of ecological survey techniques;
- Good background knowledge and experience of terrestrial ecology;
- Full and valid driving licence;
- Experience in professional consultancy and advanced understanding of the EIA process and methods;
- Project management experience; negotiating with statutory agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders on behalf of clients;
- Scoping and project management of a range of small to medium-scale projects;
- Project resource planning and financial reporting;
- Appropriate professional membership, and;

The following traits would also be desirable:

- Experience of EIA / EcIA Chapter / HRA preparation;
- SFCC Team Lead Electrofishing qualification;
- NatureScot FWPM Licence;
- Boat handling experience;
- Experience with gill / seine / fyke netting techniques;
- Experience with Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV)
- Experience with macroinvertebrates, and;
- Experience with aquatic flora.

**Salary & benefits**

**Additional information**

For this role, you must have evidence of the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a relocation package with this position.
