The Sustainability Consultant will be a member of a growing team providing consultancy services to commercial, industrial and public sector clients in support of their sustainability goals. You’ll be a key member of a small, dynamic and multi-skilled team which delivers strategy, audit, analytical and operational services across the energy, climate dimensions of sustainability and ISO compliance framework. With client works across the UK and Europe, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects that include net-zero strategy development; science-based target setting; greenhouse gas assessment across all scopes; policy analysis; quantitative analytical and modelling work; voluntary carbon offset market assessment; general sustainability systems-thinking; and ESG and ISO management compliance frameworks.

As a Sustainability Consultant, you will be deeply involved across the whole spectrum of the business area from the analytical, technical and policy aspects of project work to building and managing a pipeline of projects, including involvement on proposal submission and client/prospect engagement, to software development support and that of the wider sustainability consulting team.

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Build a strong working relationship with client sustainability team and their stakeholders.
- Collection, analysis, validation and communication of client sustainability data for internal and external environmental reporting.
- Collect relevant data to calculate carbon footprints; perform data analysis; and develop potential emissions reductions targets.
- Assisting client in gathering the right information to meet their requirements.
- Perform gap analyses to identify the steps an organisation needs to take to start their net-zero, carbon neutral or ISO Management Systems journey.
- Perform internal audits of existing ISO Management Systems.
- Assist in the implementation of ISO 50001 Energy, ISO 14001 Environment Management Systems and integrating them within any existing systems.
- Complete ESOS and SECR data collation and analyses.
- Any other tasks deemed appropriate.

**Person Specification: Essential**

**General**
- Upwards of two years’ experience in a similar role.
- A minimum of grade C or equivalent in GCSE Maths and English Language.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Access to own vehicle.
- A willingness to travel within the UK.

**Technical**
- Understanding of carbon footprinting schemes, methodology and practices.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental and sustainability legislation and market drivers.
- Ability to analyse complex quantitative and qualitative data.
- Experience or understanding of modelling and quantitative analysis.
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent presentational, report-writing, and data visualisation skills
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools including the use of formulae, pivot tables and graphical representation.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and presentation.

**Person Specification: Desirable**
- Previous commercial experience in sustainability consulting, in-house corporate sustainability and/or other relevant organisation (e.g. standards/framework entity, think-tank or research house).
- Deep knowledge of energy, climate and sustainability from a commercial, practitioner and academic perspective.
- Experience of client delivery on the main reporting frameworks, standards and initiatives (e.g., CDP, SBTI, GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI, plus latest ESG reporting developments).
- Experience of conducting ESOS and SECR audits.
- Experience of either managing, auditing or implementing ISO management systems with an ISO lead auditor qualification a distinct advantage.
- Relevant professional membership / qualification a distinct advantage.
- Experience in calculating supply chain emissions.
- Experience using Power BI and other analytical tools

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
