Aerotron Composites is a privately owned company, one of a number of successful aviation companies in the Aerotron group. At our site in Chatteris we manufacture composite aircraft components for several major aerospace manufacturers. We are currently expanding our manufacturing capacity and are developing new repair capability for airlines within a new build extension of our current facilities.

We are looking for someone to join and strengthen our inspection team with a range of tasks to both suit the individual and keep interest in day-to-day activities. You will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplined department and Company. Salary and responsibility will be offered according to experience and qualifications.

Job Purpose
- To ensure quality standards are maintained through visual and dimensional inspection of composite components and tooling.
- Technical support and development of the inspection team.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop the skill, knowledge, and competence of the inspection team on an ongoing basis.
- Facilitate and encourage departmental continual improvement activities.
- Perform in-stage and final visual inspection of composite components and tooling.
- Perform dimensional inspections using appropriate handheld and/or CMM equipment.
- Review and compile inspection reports as required.
- Collaborate with the Engineering department in developing inspection strategies.
- Support the business in meeting delivery targets.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key departments across the business.
- Follow company health and safety policies at all times.

Secondary Responsibilities
- Support MRB (Materials Review Board) activities.
- Support goods-in inspection activities of sub-contracted processes.
- Compilation and approval of FAI reports.
- Reviewing and approving CofC documentation for product dispatch.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in a similar role, ideally in the aerospace or defence industry.
- Ability to communicate well at all levels, be self-motivated, professional in approach, with a can-do attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to make informed decisions.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office package.)
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience in using CMM equipment (Faro Arm/Laser Tracker) desirable.
- Knowledge and use of Polyworks and/or Verisurf Inspection software beneficial.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO9001 and AS9100 beneficial.
- Knowledge of FAI (First Article Inspection) standard AS9102 beneficial.
- Knowledge of composites and manufacturing processes beneficial.
- Proven track record in problem solving.
