**Job Title** - Primary School Sports Coach

**Start date -** 11th December 2023 (negotiable)

**Salary** - £12 - £14 per hour (dependant on experience/qualifications)

A.M. Sports are based in Derby, covering Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We provide a range of sporting services to enhance the provision of PE, School sport and community activity. We are a small, family run business with a close-knit team and we understand it’s the little things that make a big difference.

At A.M Sports we pride ourselves on working in partnership with the schools that we work in to enable the school to put a plan in place or develop their existing sports programme. We feel every school should have a target of what they want to achieve with their school PE & Sport budget as well as their sports premium and our staff can help in accomplishing those goals with the high standard of coaching we offer. Staff ensure that everyone benefits from our services, from teachers and support staff, to children and parents as well as schools meeting Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of sports coaching and hold qualifications, including:

- A recognised NGB Level 2 Coaching Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
- Child Protection/Safeguarding Children certificate (can be gained on employment)
- First/Emergency Aid certificate (can be gained on employment)
- Enhanced DBS clearance and/or no convictions (can be gained on employment)
- Further educational or vocational qualifications in sport (desirable)
- Experience and knowledge of working with children and young people (mandatory)
- Competent in literacy and numeracy
- Competency to perform at consistently high standards in a school and coaching environment
- Be able to plan a range of innovative coaching sessions and programs.
- Set-up and deliver high quality sports coaching sessions to children and young people.
- Develop and inspire young people to live and lead active lifestyles.
- Be able to accurately assess young children/people's progress.
- Knowledge of the school PE National Curriculum (desirable).
- Excellent people skills with children and adults.

**Main Duties**: Reporting to the company owner, you will be responsible for the delivery of PE, sport and physical activities to children and young people, both in school curriculum time, following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study, and extra-curricular activities at lunch times, after school and during school holiday and half term periods.

**Skills and Experience**:
A keen interest in sport, own transport, willingness to travel and basic computer skills are essential. Applicants must be reliable, pro-active, self-motivated, have excellent people skills with children and adults and be able to use their own initiative. A passion for coaching and inspiring young people through engagement and participation in physical activity and sport is essential. Previous sports coaching or teaching experience in a school environment would be beneficial to the applicant.

**Hours of work**: 27 hours in term time (39 weeks), 12:00 to 16:30 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, and 8:00 to 16:30 on Tuesdays. 32.5 hours during school holidays (10 weeks) 08:45 to 15:30 Monday to Friday.

**Hourly Rate**: £12 - £14 per hour dependant experience/qualifications

**Self Employed basis** - applies to all current A.M Sports staff.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 27 per week

**Salary**: £12.00-£14.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus scheme
- Yearly bonus
