- Permanent Contract, full time hours 37.5hrs

**Additional Funding**: There will be a requirement to complete a post-graduate MD (fully-funded by HCA) as part of this role. Both previous Cyber Knife Research Fellow post holders have successfully been awarded Research MDs.

The MD (Res) is registered with the Bart’s Cancer Institute at Queen Mary University of London; the Fellow must enrol and register.As well as the Harley Street Clinic (HSC) co-supervisors the Fellow will be allocated a Tutor at Bart’s Cancer Institute.The staff members at the Research office at Bart’s Cancer Institute provide guidance and support regarding the administration aspects of the MD (Res) degree.

**About this opportunity**

The Cyber Knife Research Fellow is responsible to provide a doctor’s service to Cyber Knife patients in liaison with the patient's own consultant and to give medical attention when requested. This may involve counselling and consent. The role extends toauditing patient outcomes following Cyber Knife treatment. This will involve the maintenance of rigorous patient follow-up in a well-designed database.The Fellow will be expected to present this work in publication and/or at conference. Collaborate and supportwith facilitating a seamless patient pathway for all Cyberknife patients.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- To liaise with and be professionally responsible to the Consultants who are responsible for individual patients and to provide on-site care requested by the Consultant. To handle all such contacts with a high standard of professionalism and appearance withregard to the reputation, standing and image of the hospital.
- MDM agenda preparation including review of patients’ previous RT details with the medical physics team.
- Preparation and submission of requests for insurance funding for treatment.
- Assistance with contouring/treatment planning.The Fellow would be expected to collaborate with Clinical Oncologists regarding margins, and dose/fractionation.In collaboration with the Consultant, the Fellow would guide medical physicists re: acceptabledose limits for Organs at Risk.
- To prescribe and supply necessary drugs as specified by Consultants.
- Assisting with enquires from patients about treatment either via the web site
- Liaising with radiologists regarding fiducial placements.
- Preparation of data for clinical audits of the Cyber Knife as and when required for internal use and for external assessment.
- Review of current treatment protocols with revision as necessary according to current best practice.
- Responsibility for collating patient follow-up and outcome studies after Cyber Knife treatment. Publications and presentations of data concerning patient outcomes.This may require attendance at appropriate national and international meetings, as wellas publication of research in relevant journals.
- Preparation and submission of research protocols for funding.

**Skills & Experience**

Must have part 2 FRCR

Full registration with the General Medical Council with License to Practice

Current membership of a medical defense union
