Derby, United Kingdom Western Power Distribution Full time

Job Introduction

Want to join a team that works with passion and purpose to power a network that nearly 8 millions people rely on every day? If you share our energy and ambition, this could be your opportunity to build a career with a supportive team in an environment where everyone is empowered to do their best and be their best.

An opportunity has arisen for a Craftsperson (Overhead Lines) based within the Derby team to cover the Derby area.

In this role you will be required to undertake construction, maintenance, replacement and repair of overhead lines up to and including 66kV. This is a diverse role that will see you working in all kinds of challenging terrain and weather. You will work at height so experience of this will be beneficial.

If you are offered a position, you will be required to complete and provide a satisfactory basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

You must be able to work on your own initiative as part of a small team, making on the spot decisions as required and working to tight deadlines. A flexible attitude is essential, as you will be required to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting its objectives. In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties.

Please note, where job roles involve working at height and the use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment, there are restrictions on the maximum weight of the individual.
