Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Sampler to carry out sampling of petroleum and chemical samples from all stages of processing, both on and off-site at client facilities, by approved and agreed techniques. You will carry out preparation and testing on submitted samples within the shift system, as directed by the Lead Technician/Chemist. This will include all testing and preparation activities, using both basic and advanced instrument techniques for which they are trained.

**The Role**:

- Carrying out sampling duties using approved techniques as directed by the Lead Technician/Chemist, travelling to and from client facilities as required, and transporting samples in compliance with road traffic regulations at all times
- Performing sample analysis to an acceptable standard and in accordance with established procedures and maintaining accurate records of testing and sample observations and calculations
- Ensuring all work carried out in the laboratory follows the agreed procedures as set out in the local Management system
- Advising client facility Supervisors of operational or QHSE issues that arise during sampling activities and informing the Lead Technician/Chemist of any such action as soon as practical
- Producing reports for samples tested and input of sample results into the local reporting system
- Undertaking any additional miscellaneous duties, as directed by the Lead Technician/Chemist
- Providing cover for absence both on shifts and during normal working hours in agreement with the Laboratory Supervisor

**Key Requirements**
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Full UK Driving licence
- Good physical fitness and ability to work alone and unsupervised
- Ability and willingness to gain knowledge of sampling techniques to further your career
- An interest in laboratory operations/standards and properties of relevant chemical products
- Excellent IT skills
