This post is for 7.5 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BPD Trainer post (0.2 WTE) to co-ordinate and deliver training on Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) for mental health staff across GG&C. This post will form part of a small team of BPD Trainers as part if NHS GG&C 5 year Strategy for Adult Mental Health to improve services for people with a diagnosis of BPD.

The BPD Trainer post will be 0.2 WTE at Band 7, for a mental health professional experienced and passionate about working with this patient group in CMHT and/or in-patient settings, with knowledge and experience in psychological therapies/ interventions, and with some skills and experience as a trainer. The BPD trainer will be supported by GIPSI and the training subgroup of the Borderline Pathway Steering Group, to develop the skills and theoretical knowledge underpinning the training model (including Attachment theory, DBT and MBT principles) to offer training to multi-professional groups in all adult mental health settings. The model of Co-ordinated Clinical Care (CCC) is an approach based on best practice principles and existing clinical guidelines, with a core aim of promoting an empathic and validating stance. The BPD trainer will also have a role in further developing the training model, developing service user input to the training model, and evaluating outcomes.

The post holder will be hosted within GIPSI (Glasgow Institute for Psychosocial Interventions), based in Gartnavel Royal Hospital, including administrative and training support. The post will be managed by the PD Clinical Lead for NHS GGC.

The shift pattern will be negotiable.
