**Your role and responsibilities**
- A typical day is likely to involve multiple contacts from your team and colleagues, either in person or via our digital platforms. Your diary will include regular team and stakeholder meetings. You will also be working on a range of projects to enable business improvements or changes to legislation.
- Part of each day is likely to be spent assisting with problem solving or responding to more complex queries so you’ll be using your adaptability skills to accommodate changing priorities.
- You will line manage a team of 8 Service Delivery and Ceremony Managers who are based at each of our service points across Suffolk. You’ll need to be confident and flexible in travelling around the county to provide support, celebrate success and share knowledge. You will also need the authoritative presence to carry out audit checks to ensure we are compliant with our counter fraud and public protection duties.
- You will benefit from using your delegation and coaching skills to achieve high outcomes across all the teams. We encourage everyone in our service to be the best they can be and to empower positive outcomes and decision making.
- You will often represent the County in regional forums giving the opportunity to broaden your network of contacts and knowledge.

**You will need**
- A thorough knowledge of Registration and Marriage law and practice is essential - ideally evidenced by the accredited National Registrar Qualification or similar equivalent.
- We need you to have confidence in public speaking and preparing and delivering presentations and training material. An assured knowledge and experience with a range of IT and digital technology is expected.

**The team**
- You will be a crucial member of the Registration Service Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Service Head and working in partnership with the Principal Registrar you will be responsible for the statutory and operational duties of the Superintendent Registrar.
- Our team works collaboratively, sharing ideas and knowledge. Much of our direction is influenced by Government legislation, but we are continually striving to improve the service for our customers, embrace new technology, and introduce efficiencies.
- We work at pace but with compassion and empathy for our service users who are accessing our services at some of the most emotional times in their lives.
- You will have an office work base within the county but will be regularly travelling to all registration service points as well as working remotely.
