Siemens Healthineers has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Specialist - Point of Care to join our inclusive team based in Sudbury.

As a Laboratory Specialist within the Point of Care Diagnostics business line, you will have the opportunity to work with market leading, unique equipment and products, provide a key role in the QC department and maintain the quality of the product released. You will be responsible for ensuring the equipment is maintained and calibrated following approved procedures and accountable for instrument qualification to GMP standards.

This is a permanent full-time position with working hours of 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, with paid overtime.

To give you an idea of how this exciting role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

- Maintain detailed laboratory records and deviations following current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) through the use of company data recording procedure and ensure that all records and test results are accurately prepared and checked
- Oversee laboratory testing as per plans and actively contribute to an adaptive plan
- Lead investigations into atypical or out of specification results and deviations from quality procedures to determine root cause and complete effective corrective and preventative.
- Perform cartridge testing for all finished product and investigation cartridges.
- Record deviations from the normal practice and out of specification results appropriately and report them to the line manager.
- Understand what equipment can be fixed in-house and what needs external support.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained and calibrated following approved procedures and accountable for instrument qualification to GMP standards (Installation, Operational and Performance Qualifications).
- Execute laboratory testing as per plans and actively contribute to an adaptive plan.
- Advanced trouble shooting and understand of all the equipment desirable.
- Upload Methods, procedures, Specifications and PFMEA’s on to the documentum data base.
- Perform Trending on the data we generate to look for patterns and potential issues. From the trends suggest corrective actions or improvements.
- Experience in various chromatographic data systems, including OpenLab CDS HPLC, including integration of chromatograms and trouble shooting.
- Expertise in UV, including understanding critical parameters and the effects on the method, and understanding issue resolution and how the instrument generates the results.
- Able to manage time effectively and possess a desire to succeed.
- Have a flexible approach and ability to adapt according to workload
- Self motivated, reliable, able to work on own initiative, manage time effectively and possess a desire to succeed
- Be an effective team member and able to communicate across functions.
- You will be curious - keen to understand, learn and try new things, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills
