A Permanent Capex Buyer Job in Loughborough Paying up to £45,000 + Bonus Depending on Experience

**Your new role**
Reporting to the head of Indirect procurement for the UKI business, you will be responsible for providing a professional service and delivering equipment and services to support the Capex Procurement requirements of multiple UK & Ireland Business Units in themost efficient, cost effective and compliant manner.

**Responsibilities**:

- To develop relationships with a broad range of colleagues across the UK & Ireland Business Units (BU's), providing advice and training support on Capex purchasing best practice.
- To lead (and or) be a member of Capex projects and to contribute to their successful conclusion.
- To ensure effective supply market research, sourcing, contracting and supplier management techniques are used which reflect professional purchasing best practice.
- Proactively engage with BU's in order to:

- Define appropriate purchasing strategies for all projects on the Capex plan, determining the level of Procurement support that is required on each.
- To work closely with the other members of the Capex team in order to identify and exploit cross business synergies.
- To track progress of each project from definition of purchasing strategy through to supplier selection and contract award.
- To register the savings on the Company's PPM (Purchasing Performance Management) system for all completed projects.
- To support the BU's with any post contract award issues as appropriate.
- Support the development of the UK & Ireland Capex Yammer page, a communication page designed to promote best practice and practical support to non-Procurement stakeholders.
- Adhere to the Company purchasing policies and procedures including the groups' Purchasers Charter.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Strong Capex & Civils category knowledge
- Clear understanding of strategic and tactical purchasing best practice
- To be able to analyse multi-BU Capex plans, identifying opportunities to optimise cost and minimise risk
- To be able to communicate effectively and present recommendations and best practice to a broad range of stakeholders
- Excellent persuasion skills - being able to motivate and train non-reporting operational colleagues in adhering to purchasing best practice
- Excellent negotiation skills - to ensure Capex budget is optimised and commercial risks minimised
- Excellent project leadership skills - both in terms of leading and advising a number of project teams on best practice project management
- Experienced in leading objective supplier visits so as to ensure that SG is working with suppliers that share the Company's values and meet our technical expectations
- Member of CIPS or studying towards and/or Degree level, HND or equivalent
