**Assistant Verger - Zero Hours**

**Salary: Band 9 £9.67 - £11.20 per hour (£17,598 - £20,388 FTE)**

Gloucester Cathedral is one of the biggest heritage and community attractions in the South West and we remain open for everyone, 365 days a year, providing meaningful worship, events and activities for a wide range of congregations and audiences while also welcoming visitors from all over the world.

We have a great opportunity for someone to come and join our dedicated team of Vergers. The Vergers are responsible for the smooth running of our Cathedral where it is their responsibility to ensure that the services and events run without a hitch, offering support to our clergy, hirers and visitors to the Cathedral. The role is a Zero Hours Contract, although it is anticipated that weekly hours could be between 5 - 10, with some further duties during busier times such as Holy Week and Christmas, or when a Verger is taking annual leave.

The Cathedral is open 7 days a week and the verger role is busy and varied, providing support to the Cathedral 365 days each year. This role will include some weekend, evening and bank holiday work.
