The purpose of the buying consultant is to increase used car purchases, by supporting both our group used car department and the retailer site.

Based on site you will be the contact in the dealership for both direct purchases via SMC and vehicles offered in part exchange from retail customers, your role will be to appraise all vehicles offered by all channels and agree valuation prices using our valuation tool. You will be dealing direct with customers for both direct purchases and part exchanges and will be required to discuss valuation and prices directly with the customers.

You will need to be confidant, have great interpersonal skills and a degree of flexible working, to facilitate our showroom hours. You must be IT literate and ideally have a background of the motor trade but not essential as full training will be given. You must be able to work with integrity, able to prioritise and have great judgement and be objective in decision making.

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchase used car stock via sell my car appointments and part exchange vehicles from the site.
- Check, inspect and test incoming stock and complete appropriate paperwork, by following the Inchcape documented procedures.
- Record in our internal pricing system all vehicles appraised, including valuations, estimated preparation costs and cosmetics, whilst maintaining accurate records, in line with Inchcape (bravoauto) reporting standards.
- Work with the dealership in completing on site appraisals as required, for part exchange vehicles.
- Follow up vehicle offered but not purchase both by Sell my car and dealership opportunities.
- Work directly with the Group used car team central function.
- Manage appointments and leads supplied via the website and other channels.
- Have/Gain knowledge of issues known on certain brands before purchasing, and fully immerse yourself into product knowledge.
- A full driving licence is essential
- Previous experience in the used car market would be an advantage, also any experience in the technical/cosmetic market
- You must have excellent communication skills both in person and on the telephone
- Strong negotiating skills, along with sound business acumen, to obtain the best stock and our customer profile
