**DISPENSER**
**Part time hours - 24 hours / Permanent**
**We are looking to recruit an experienced Dispenser for our busy surgery dispensary in Holywell.**
**Applicants must have NVQ Level 2 Accredited Dispensary qualifications.**
**Applicants must be flexible to cover for sickness or holidays as required.**
Bodowen Surgery is a semi-rural dispensing practice on the North Wales coast within easy reach of Chester, Manchester, Liverpool and Snowdonia.
We have over 8,000 patients and are committed to providing quality care, supported by a highly skilled and organised nursing and administrative team.
**Responsibilities**:
**Dispensing**
Dispensing acute prescriptions
Not to dispense medicines to unauthorised persons, without the doctors consent
Dispensing repeat prescription requests
To ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor/dispensary manager
Updating patients repeat screens on Doctors instructions
Dispensing private prescriptions
Checking colleagues dispensing
Ensuring the Dispensary area remains clean and tidy
Maintaining complete and accurate records for controlled drugs

Handing out prescriptions
Taking prescription repeats
Collecting private charges
Sorting and endorsing prescriptions
Generating prescriptions
**Person Specification**
**Qualifications**
Level 2 S/NVQ Pharmacy Services / Qualification in Dispensing
**Essential**
- Demonstrable experience of working in a dispensary
- Good IT Skills
**Desirable**
- Experience of EMIS Web clinical system
- Experience of Microsoft Office software
**Knowledge/Skills and Attributes**

- Excellent communication (oral and written) and inter personal skills
