Compliance & Risk Officer

**The Role**

W.B.R. Credit Union Limited is currently looking for a **Compliance & Risk Officer**

The **Compliance & Risk Officer’s** primary focus will be the identification and elimination of any risks that may result in financial loss, injury, or legal liability.

This role will provide assurance to the Board of Directors and the Regulators **that W.B.R. Credit Union Limited** is operating within the letter and spirit of the legal and regulatory framework laid down within the UK law, and in particular the regulatory and supervisory framework required by the regulators and other statutory and professional bodies.

**Hours of work**:
Minimum of 30 hours per week.

Additional hours may be required from time to time.

The job will involve attendance at seminars, workshops etc. which can take place in the evenings or all-day Saturdays.

Essential Criteria
- Data Protection experience and/or strong understanding of UK GDPR
- A knowledge of the compliance requirements of the various Regulators in the financial sector.
- Ability to work on own initiative to deliver agreed targets.
- Excellent communication and team working skills.
- Excellent numerical skills.
- Confidence in using IT software such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to converse with members effectively and in a professional manner.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Qualification awarded by recognised professional body in Risk Management & Compliance
- A sound understanding of credit union operations.
- Previous experience within a finance analysis focused position.
