Primarily the post holder will work as a clinical member of the CSSA Outpatient/Pre-assessment team and will be responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, caring, high quality patient focused care. The HCA role is responsible for ensuring all resources within the clinical area are used to optimum effect, ensuring the highest quality patient care standards. Accountabilities Undertake routine tasks related to individual patients health and well-being. Establish and maintain communication with people on routine care matters Contribute to own personal development.

Assist in maintaining own and others health and safety and security. Assist in maintaining and developing services. Ensure own actions help to maintain quality. Ensure own actions support equality, diversity, and human rights.

Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand ownresponsibility as agreed with Service manager in the prevention and control of HCAI. To be familiar with all departmental and emergency equipment, ensuring it is cleaned and stored away safely at the end of the day. To ensure the safe care and custody of patients property and valuables in line with the agreed procedure. Ensure that CSSA procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with Clinical policies and department SOPs To assist in carrying out audit and quality monitoring as required in relation to the service.

**Key working relationships**: Patients and their families Ward, DSU teams, Theatre, Clinical Co-ordinators, and assessment teams Surgeons and Anaesthetists Other quality indicators within the sphere of responsibility Undertake care in a manner that is consistent with: Multi-disciplinary team working Patient centred care Compliance with the local delivery of infection control practice as defined by National recommendations and local policies including the implementation of the Saving Lives Initiatives Ensuring an environment that is fit for purpose in delivering safe and effective patient care and is responsive to the needs of patients and their carers recognising the importance of individual privacy and dignity.
