Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

About the role

**Hear from the Hiring Manager**
- “We are looking for a motivated person to work within a professional Security Team to protect assets and personnel while safely and securely enable decommissioning activities at the site.”_

**Please note the role involves a rotational pattern of 12-hour shifts that offer the site 24/7 365 coverage. To compensate you would receive a Shift Supplement, which is 17.5% of the base salary.**

**Key Deliverables**
- Implement site Access Control procedures in accordance with the Nuclear Site Security Plan (SSP) and Site Security Instructions (SAIs).
- Carry out searching of people, property and vehicles as per Company Policy and SSP.
- Carry out security patrols of the site and its environs in accordance with the SSP and Site Security Instructions (SAIs). Promptly report any incidents and irregularities in accordance with procedures.
- Examine and take appropriate immediate actions in response to security incidents.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Educated to NQF level 1/NVQ Level 1 (e.g., GCSE - grades 3, 2, 1 or grades D, E, F, G), or equivalent standard or equivalent demonstrable experience in relevant aspect to the post (essential).
- NVQ Level 2 Security Management (desirable).
- Practical experience on own speciality within a relevant industry (desirable).
- Working knowledge of databases / IT office systems (desirable).

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
