We are a Transport Company based in Morden.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised transport telephonist / controller to join our growing business.
As a Transport Controller, you will be responsible for managing the dispatch and coordination of our fleet of drivers, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs for our customers. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Answering and responding to incoming/outcoming calls
- Dispatch drivers to customers promptly and efficiently, considering factors such as location, availability, and customer preferences.
- Communicate with customers, relevant staff, and transportation providers to ensure smooth operations and address any issues or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, routes, and attendance.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including customer information, trip details, and driver assignments.
- Monitor the status of transport in real-time, adjusting schedules as needed to accommodate changes or unexpected events.
- Planning routes in an efficient manner for staff
- Handle any emergencies or incidents that may arise during transportation, following established protocols and ensuring the safety of all passengers.
- Monitor the status of ongoing transportation trips to ensure timely arrivals and customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a professional and courteous manner, striving to resolve them to the customer's satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize transport routes and ensure maximum efficiency.
- Communicate with drivers to provide them with pickup locations and any specific instructions from customers.
- Any other activities required to ensure the operation of transport services.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience preferred in a similar role, preferably in the transportation or customer service industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with computer literacy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Familiarity with geographic locations and navigation tools.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software or similar systems.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
**Salary**: £600.00-£640.00 per week
