Great opportunity for an experienced butcher to join our friendly team in our shop based in Aylsham.

**Job Overview**:
Working in Aylsham you will be responsible for the production and selling of meats for catering and retail predominately in a customers facing position as part of our small team. You will have a passion for meat, great industry knowledge, fantastic customer service, proven selling skills and have been in the trade for a minimum of two years.

**Responsibilities**:

- Production: Cutting down carcasses to different cuts to order/further production
- Greeting and serving customers
- Preparing meat for displays
- Stock management
- Food Safety management
- Health & Safety management

**Duties - Daily and Weekly duties include**:

- Prepare interesting seasonal displays.
- Aware of food safety, health and safety, cleaning schedules, maximising food sales with zero waste, stock management, ensuring all paperwork/HACCP records are up-to-date and correct.
- Prep and presentation of the cooked and raw service displays, associated fridges and promotional areas.
- Ability to engage with our customers to cross sell and up sale across our product range.

**Experience**
- Ideally minimum of 2 years experience as a butcher.
- Ideally minimum 2 years customer service experience.
- A real passion for excellent customer service.
- An enthusiasm for retailing, working with food and specifically butchery.
- Strong communication skills.
- The ability to work on own initiative and good team spirit.
- Above average strength

**Qualifications**:

- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- City & Guilds / NVQ qualifications in Butchery/ Food Technology are desirable.
- First Aid trained (preferred but not essential)
