Job Advert Description

**What you'll be doing**
- Advising on the establishment of Teckal companies;
- An understanding of public sector vires and public law;
- Advising on EU procurement law and subsidy control matters;
- Advising on joint venture shareholders' agreements in both the private and public sector;
- Advising on PPP/PFI contracts including refinancing's and variations;
- Undertaking outsourcing arrangements for the public sector
- Advising on ad hoc day-to-day corporate and commercial queries from our public sector clients;
- Advising on local authority governance matters including constitutions, schemes of delegation and contract standing orders;
- Initiating, building and maintaining effective client relationships;
- Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures;
- Pro-active participation in department and firm-wide marketing initiatives;
- Training and development of junior legal staff (where appropriate).

**What you'll need**

The firm has a Career Development Framework which sets out the competencies we expect of those at the Senior Associate grade. In particular for this role we require:

- Strong client focus.
- Drive and enthusiasm.
- Commercial awareness.
- Credibility.
- Substantial client management experience.
- Proven track record in origination/business development.
- Solid academic record.
- Qualified solicitor with relevant PQE in advising a broad diet of corporate commercial matters
- Ability to manage files independently.
